LION, WITCH & THE WARDROBE OPENS!

Posted by Lydia on Apr 29, 2006 in Theatre |

The ACT 2 Theatre Company production of THE LION, THE WITCH & THE WARDROBE opened last night to an enthusiastic and appreciative audience. Director Christian Cox has done a great job putting this show together — and with so many children in the cast!

There were a lot of remarks from audience members about how good even the youngest of the actors are. (I’m told that a couple of them, including the girl playing Lucy, are only 7 years old.) All the children are very, very good. And the adults are great, too. The White Witch is dazzling. The costumes are gorgeous! All the creatures running around Narnia are quite impressive. The show employs a great deal of puppetry. Aslan and Mr. and Mrs. Beaver are all puppets controlled by actors.

The show will continue tonight at the Robert C. Byrd Theatre, One Eagle Way in Clarksburg. Show starts tonight at 7:30 p.m. and tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. Next weekend (May 5-7) you can see the show Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and again on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets are available at the box office. $10 adults, $8.00 students and seniors. Festival seating.

I’ll be in the concession stand where you can get Turkish Delight, magic wands, and creature masks in addition to regular refreshments.
See you there!
